Jeff Dye, a Ventura County Search and Rescue volunteer, died Saturday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while assisting others at a traffic collision. (Ventura County Sheriff’s Office) VENTURA COUNTY, California. – A member of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team was killed Saturday morning in a collision on Interstate 5 near Pyramid Lake. The crash occurred just on the 5 Freeway at around 7:30 a.m. The volunteer killed was identified as Jeff Dye, a member of the Fillmore Search and Rescue team according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Twitter.
